To Drink Deeply: A Diabolo

You inflame my heart above all,
As you save me from one more fall,
And recreate
For me what is right, good and bright,
Shining in my heart your life light
To drive out hate

I come to you naked in love
For your sweet nectar from above,
To drink deeply
From you like a hungering child,
Now at your bosom free and wild,
Not discreetly

Note: The Diabolo is a poetry form invented by Dennis William Turner, writing on All Poetry as Dennisturner19, and it is a poem of two six-line, iambic stanzas. Laughter

Dancing round the tree

You laugh so freely

For all souls to see

What you bring to me

In earth, sky, and sea

Forever to be

Declared not guilty

To be at liberty

Day Meets Night to Play

Day meets night while night meets day

To say hello, fare-thee-well as they stray

Across earth and sky so high, so low

In slow rhythm of love above all else

As two children at play with sun, moon

And stars from afar to glitter so soon

Like an exquisite boon from heaven

To leaven the compassion they cherish

Before they perish in the sea of eternity

I Went to the Sea

I went to the sea to see what I could see

But I couldn’t quite grasp the symmetry

Of clear blue sky and the waves so high

Keeping cadence with your last goodbye

And the sigh I sighed with mournful cry

In vain to try to win you back before I die

But did you care at all that I could not see

In the sea what I came to see in you and me?

Speckles of Freckles

Speckles of freckles splashed across your face

With dancing eyes lancing all who look in joy

At the prancing spirit welling up from inside

Of an open heart occupied by love amplified

By heaven with leavening grace in sure place

Of everything that should be right by the light

Of an immortal youth never fading or abating

By Lapping Waves: An Andaree

Hold my hand by the water of lapping waves

Take me to the cave of love that saves

And thrill me within my heart

But whole, not in part

So charming

Kiss

No harming

While you work your art

And shoot me thru with your dart

Before we lie prostrate in cold graves

Hold my hand by the water of lapping waves

Note: The Andaree was created by Andrea Dietrich and is syllabic, with lines of 11/9/7/5/3/1/3/5/7/9/11
Rhyme Scheme: A a b b c b c b b a A
It requires a Refrain: Line 1 is repeated as Line 11.

Waistband

Excitation from inhalation of your cream sweet aroma

And suddenly this dream breaks the banality of reality

In the finality of passion to allure me to secure me to you

In full view of this world into which I am now bound

To the sound of your love and laughter forever hereafter

As you press my head to your waist where I am graced

To taste your infection of life affection without rejection

As now beneath your lifegiving hand I am your waistband

And I thank you . . .
