Rip Off the Mask and Bask

Rip off your mask and bask in your glory,
And unchain your tongue to tell your story,
Whether hoary or gory,
Nice or full of vice,
Serious or delirious,
Or grave and so brave;
What you’ve sought, bought, and brought
Into this world ought to be boldly told!
Everyone has a tale to tell,
But most mostly masquerade
In stately staid appearance
With blade to heart to kill their real part
With eyeshade and blooming brocade all
To evade being portrayed as self-jaded,
Dismayed humans too human in humanity,
And, oh, what vanity!
Off with your mask, then, and begin to bask!
Make real reality your living tree of light!
Rip off your mask and bask in your glory,
And unchain your tongue to tell your story!
