My Lover, My Joy

Sorrow may last through the night but joy comes with the morning light,
For my Lover hovers over me, and covers me with passionate compassion,
Practically smothering me with Love unbounded to the sound of angels,
And so I cry in knowing I’ll ne’er say goodbye, and sigh with delight,
Though the fight may come again and again, and begin to wear me down,
My Lover will keep me in sight, standing by my side to abide the battle
Till all my foes are vanquished and sent, hell-bent, to the netherworld;
And so though battle-scarred and marred, I will sing my sweet love song,
For I belong to my Lover and my Lover to me forevermore in raptured joy!

  1. This is such an inspiring poem. It reads like a psalm that needs to be put to music.
    Blessings!! πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you so much, Dajena! Perhaps someone at my church WILL eventually put it to music… I simply don’t have that talent, BUT someone does! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
