And I Wait For You

Highways and byways fly by night and day, dark and light,
Seen and then out of sight
And I look for you

Bars and sky stars with too many drinks, sinking once again,
Begin and end another turn
And I look for you

And the wind carries your name
And the rain washes away my shame
And the snow blows all that I know
And I know I love you, so…
I wait for you to show

Beds and pillows wet with all I’ve said and cried and tried,
Weak and shallow, thick mired
And I look for you

Dreams and screams with fleeting images, meeting in my soul,
Bold shadows I cannot hold
And I look for you

And the wind carries your name
And the rain washes away my shame
And the snow blows all that I know
And I know I love you, so…
I wait for you to show

Woods and beaches, swinging moods and heart leeches sucking,
Bucking senses every season
And I look for you…
Look for you and you, never knowing when you might be showing,
But I’m tired — so tired — going down drowning for this last time

But the wind carries your name
And the rain washes away my shame
And the snow blows all that I know
And I know I love you, so…
I wait for you to show

I wait for you to show…

    1. You know, I was just talking to my daughter and saying it’s too bad I have no musical talent; I might actually try putting it to music. Otherwise, someone else can take a shot at it! LOL 😉

      1. Maybe your kids will get inspiration to make songs? 🙂 That reminded me actually of a sweet movie called “Begin Again”, nice teamwork there creating music together, including the man’s teenage daughter.
