Tiger, Tiger, Frightful Sight … Comforting

~ Inspired in part by the Poet, William Blake ~

amazon_by_arventur[2]Tiger, tiger burning bright in the world-forest of bleakest night,
What prey do you hunt to ravish in lavish feeding, in frightful sight?
And are you, too, the angel-companion, my sweet Selene so serene,
With other side ~ lamb and lioness ~ both to comfort and to fight?

Ever you amaze; I’ll sing your praise in answered prayer and lifted care,
From shoulders weak, striking low the proud, lifting scorn from one so bowed.

Tiger, tiger burning bright, stalking at my side, in you I confide
Deepest concerns, what burns inside, all the painful living turns;
And now see I the Lamb, tigress gentle, soothing voice, soft fleece-hide,
To tell the tale of blessing and promises of redressing all concerns.

Ever you amaze; I’ll sing your praise in answered prayer and lifted care,
From shoulders weak, striking low the proud, lifting scorn from one so bowed.

Tiger, tiger burning bright, my Sélená light-fierce in bleakest night,
What prey you hunt I know; to ravish the proud, the loud; put to flight
All suppressers, oppressors, torturers of my soul in faithful fight
Against all the vipers, snipers and poisonous pipers, so full of spite.

Oh so, Sélená, shall I sing your praise in answered prayer and lifted care,
From shoulders weak, striking low the proud, lifting scorn from one so bowed.
